Correction: Dr. Sykes found that Yeti DNA matches the GenBank record of an alleged hybrid bear, but since the alleged hybrid bear scientists only had the jawbone and no 8 foot tall bipedal skeleton, they were forced to guess at the bear classification. In other words, GenBank already has Yeti DNA in their databank. It had inadvertantly been mislabeled because they had no certain way to know that it was something radically different than any previously known species.
