Justin Smeja Polygraph Examiner Interview

 In my last Article I raised some question as to the validity of Justin Smeja's Polygraph test based on what I discovered about the examiner. Some of my conclusions were wrong some were right. Jeanne Hobbs, the examiner, was kind enough to address the questions I had about Justin's test and her background. I had reported that Jeanne was associated with a Mr. John L. Grogan, Jeanne denies this is the case and has some very strong words about Mr. Grogan. She has provided some links in this interview that I invite you to check out regarding Mr. Grogan. What we got wrong:

We contended that Jeanne had dealings with John L. Grogan. Jeanne denies having any association with Mr. Grogan.

Jeanne does not own NorCalPolygraph.com, however she does own NorCal Polygraph the physical business.

  

What we got right:

We stated that Jeanne was not a member of CAPE ( The California Association Of Polygraph Examiners), she is not a member.

What we are still unsure of:

Jeanne did not say where she recieved her training. Since she says she has no association with John L. Grogan we must assume it was not from his "Polygraph Academy In A Box". or www.polygraphacademy.com.

Below is the Interview with Jeanne. Her answers are in red. The questions and answers have not been changed in any way.

In the Bigfoot Lunch club article by Guy Edwards you stated that there were 40 questions asked but only 17 show on the report, why is that? 

EVERY CHART IS FORMULATED TO HAVE 10 QUESTIONS. 4 ARE KNOW TRUTHS, 2 ARE KNOWN LIES AND 4 ARE RELAVENT QUESTIONS. EACH CHART HAD 4 RELAVANT QUESTIONS. IT TOOK 40 QUESTIONS AND 10 CHARTS TO GET THE 17 QUESTIONS ANSWERED.

Who actually hired you to do the testing, what date did they originally contact you and what date was the test performed?  

RO CONTACTED ME AND I DID THE POLYGRAPH ON SATURDAY

What was your reaction when told that this test was being performed to determine whether or not Justin shot one or more Bigfoot or Bigfoot type creatures? 

 DOESN'T MATTER TO ME WHAT THE QUESTIONS MY CLIENT HAS, I JUST GET PAID TO ASK THE QUESTIONS MY CLIENT WANTS TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT. I DON'T CARE OR HAVE ANY PERSONAL OPIONION ON THIER MATTER.

What was your impression of Justin before the test? 

 I AM NOT A COUNSELOR, I DON'T DRAW A PERSONAL OPINION....MY INSTRUMENT MEASURE MY SUBJECTS BODY SENSITIVITIES AND THEN ARE SCORED...PERIOD

Industry standards say that questions should be asked no less than 3 times, was this done with Justin? 

YES

Did anyone ask you to make the results "look positive"?  

ABOSOLUTELY NOT...I HAVE NEVER MET THESE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE AND WOULD NEVER COMPRIMISE MYSELF OR MY PROFESSION TO FALSIFY AN EXAM.

You Stated in The Bigfoot Lunch Club interview that you worked for a private investigator before becoming a polygraph examiner. Was that PI Mr. John L Grogan?

NO ABOSOLUTELY NOT! THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT I HAVE TO REPORT ON JOHN GROGAN! ENOUGH SAID AND I DON'T FEEL I NEED TO SAY ANYTHING ELSE PERSONALLY EXCEPT THE FACT THAT JOHN GROGAN STOLE MY NAME ALSO, WHEN I OPENED MY BUSINESS JUST AS HE HAS DONE WITH MANY MANY OTHER POLYGRAPH EXAMINERS ACROSS THE NATION. In my research I found a testimonial given by you on a website known as

Ro Sahebi stated on his pod cast that you were a member of CAPE however you are not listed on the CAPE website an a member in good standing. Why is that?

CAPE CHARGES SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS A YEAR TO BE A MEMBER OF THEIR "ASSOCIATION" WHICH BRINGS NO PROFIT OR GAIN TO A POLYGRAPH EXAMINER. THEIR IS NO "MEMEBER IN GOOD STANDING" REGULAITON OR CONDITIONAL REASON FOR A POLGRAPH EXAMINER TO PAY MONEY FOR NOTHING IN RETURN. CAPE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING FOR A POLYGRAPH EXAMINER EXCEPT TAKE THEIR MONEY. THEIR ASSOCIATION MEANS NOTHING TO US.

Ro also mentioned that you were a member of PEOA. My research shows that the PEOA was organized by John L. Grogan, is this true?

Have you had any other verifiable polygraph training? 

 I AM NO LONGER AN MEMBER OF ANY ASSOCIATION BECAUSE THEY DO NOTHING BUT TAKE MONEY FROM MEMEBERS. THEIR ARE NO BENEFITS FOR BEING A MEMEBER OFTHEIR ASSOCIATION. YES JOHN L. GROGAN DOES RUN PEOA AND JUST STEALS MONEY FROM HIS MEMBERS AND IF YOU ARE AN ASSOCIATED MEMEBER YOU HAVE TO PAY JOHN GROGAN $95.00 FOR EVERY POLYGRAPH YOU PERFORM AND PAY IT TO HIM DIRECTLY. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH JOHN L. GROGAN. AGAIN PLEASE READ THE LINKS I HAVE ATTACHED. AND AGAIN CAPE IS NOTHING BUT ANOTHER ASSOCIATION THAT JUST TAKE MONEY FROM MEMEBERS AND DOES NOTHING FOR THEM. Since CAPE requires you to have gone to an APA (American Polygraph Association) acredited  school, you can not be a member of CAPE, is this true?

 CAPE IS NOTING AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY REQUIRE FOR MEMEBERSHIP EXCEPT THAT THEY CHARGE A LOT OF MONEY TO BE A MEMEBER AND REQUIRE NOTHING EXCEPT MONEY TO JOIN

 YES I OWN NORCAL POLYGRAPH

Isn’t it true that NorCal Polygraph is one of Mr. John L. Grogan’s companies?

 ABSOLUTELY NOT...HE STOLE MY DOMAIN AND THAT WHAT HE DOES WITH ALL POLYGRAPH EXAMINERS ACROSS THE NATION... AGAIN READ THE LINKS!

According to the BBB, Mr. Grogan’s company Gold Star Investigations received an “F” rating. In that report it also lists www.polygraphacademy.com, can you explain this?

Also according to the BBB, Companies offering Private Investigator or Private Patrol services are required to be licensed with the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. As of our last verification on October 18, 2007, this company's Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) license and firearm permit license were revoked by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) in 2003 due to regulatory actions.

Is the above statement from the BBB true? If True how do you explain this.

Isn’t it true that Mr. Grogan never completed any polygraph examiner course at any accredited school, instead only receiving an “honorary” degree? 

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT JOHN GROGAN AND REFUSE TO COMMENT ON MY PERSONAL OPINION..... GOOGLE HIM, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND

There were several other questions dealing with Jeanne's association with Mr. Grogan, Jeanne did not answer any more of these kind of questions I have omitted these questions for that reason. She maintains that she has no association with Grogan.
